Welcome to The 2019 Ann Asparro Virtual Challenge, a virtual race supporting the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation (LIAF)!
On November 2nd and 3rd, Jay Asparro will be running 100 miles in 24 hours to raise awareness for dementia and LIAF’s hands-on programs and services, in honor of his grandmother, Ann.
During this virtual challenge, you and your team will have a full month to complete the same endeavor as Jay will in 24 hours! Run, walk, swim, bike anywhere you want. Then log activity and see yourself move on our map and leaderboards. Catch a Google street view of your virtual locale.. cheer your real fellow racers... share your bib on social media... brag about your streaks or longest runs.. get friends and family to support your virtual cause!
If Jay can do 100 miles in 24 hours, how long will it take your team to finish the virtual route?
Complete your exercise anywhere you want. Then log activity and see yourself move on our map and leaderboards. Catch a Google street view of your virtual locale, then cheer your real fellow racers! Share your bib on social media! Brag about your streaks or longest runs!
We've got racers all over the globe! So to keep everyone on the same page, we've come up with some handy guidelines:
1. We rely on the honor system... you don't have to use a device to prove your miles -- a good map suffices.
2. No ALL DAY step counting, please use intentional miles.
3. This year, moderate and vigorous exercise activities (i.e. biking, swimming, yoga, HIIT, etc. ) can be converted to miles. Note: All conversions are based on a translation of steps into hour/mile. If you use a step counter while you are intentionally walking or running, just enter those as steps and we’ll convert them too!
4. Please attribute your activity to the appropriate day -- don't combine workouts from multiple dates.
5. Please only backdate logs for a race up to two weeks in the past.
6. Activities can not be submitted after the race ends will not count toward race leaderboards.
